The K Visa is the only legal exception that bypasses this ban, but the system is rigged against it. If you try to file this yourself, the National Visa Center will almost certainly “Administratively Close” your case—a fancy way of saying they will throw your application in the trash and force you back into the frozen CR-1 line.
